Make Ends Meet is a one-day workshop led by Yana Abrasheva. In it, the participants will be exploring a variety of bookbinding stitching techniques and be able to create their own sketchbooks with a personalized cover printed on the Slopi Kopi riso machine in two colors. The workshop will be divided into three practical segments:

10:00 – 12:00 Designing the covers for the sketchbooks (by hand or digitally)
13:00 – 16:00 (with breaks) We will be exploring different stitching techniques: Saddle stitch, Japanese bookbinding, Link stitch, and French link stitch. For this segment, we will be using the scrap paper leftover from the riso tests and make different sizes of colorful zines with it.
16:00 – 17:00 (or on to 18:00 if needed) Еvery participant will be able to make their own sketchbook with blank paper and their printed cover provided, using their favorite stitch.

Everyone is invited to also bring personal materials and memorabilia which they would like to stitch in their zines or sketchbook as well.
The space has a scanner that the participants can use in order to scan existing materials or artworks for their cover. Also, everybody is invited to bring their computer and work digitally on their covers, or collage or draw them.

Please note that your place is only reserved at the moment you have already paid for your ticket. This can be done via online payment or on site at the KO-OP art space.
